Germany
In German, a Scout is called a "Pfadfinder" (or
"Pfadfinderin" for a girl) - literally, a
"pathfinder".
Like many European countries, Germany has a number of
Scouting organizations, usually organized along religious
lines.
Most of these patches are from the largest German Scout
organization, the DPSG - Deutsche Pfadfinderschaft Sankt Georg -
German St. George Scouts - which is Catholic-oriented. The
next-largest is the nondenominational BdP, then the Protestant
VCP. |

New Zealand
|
I'm not entirely sure about this
patch - Rimu is in New Zealand, so that's what I'm attributing
the patch to. It was in a collection of Pacific-area
patches. |

Okinawa
|
|
This patch dates to the period when
Okinawa was occupied by the United States after the Second World
War. After 1972, when Okinawa was handed back to Japan, the
Japanese Scouts on the island would have become part of the
Japanese Scouts. Scout dependents of US military and diplomatic
personnel would now be considered BSA Scouts in the Far East
Council. |
